Alec studied composition at the Junior Royal Academy of Music from 2021 to 2025 under renowned composers, Edmund Jolliffe and Grace-Evangeline Mason. He is grateful to currently hold a scholarship to the Royal College of Music, studying under William Mival, where he will graduate in 2029.

As a composer, he has written for a wide range of ensembles with his works having been performed in various popular venues such as the concert halls at the Royal Academy and Royal College of Music, St James Church Piccadilly, Newbury's Shaw House St James Sussex Gardens and more.

Alec has worked with many professional musicians on performances of his works such as clarinettist Poppy Beddoe, conductor Alexander Walker and the Kyan Quartet.

As a pianist and conductor, he has performed in prestigious venues including LSO St Luke’s and Cadogan Hall, appearing as a soloist in Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 and he has conducted his own works at London Conservatoires with his own and conservatoire ensembles

Alec Imamovic is a UK-born composer, conductor and pianist based in London

whose works seek to make contemporary music as accessible as possible. Grounded in a deep respect for musical tradition, Alec strives to create works that are both innovative and accessible through having strong narratives in his music that will tell a compelling story, connecting styles and pushing boundaries while maintaining an emotional and aesthetic resonance with a wide audience.

His compositional voice spans a diverse range of styles, from lush late Romanticism to bold contemporary idioms. Alec is driven by a desire to explore new compositional techniques, always searching for fresh ways to express timeless ideas.

The Berkshire Chamber Music Festival appointed Alec as composer in residence for their 2026 season, where Those Fleeting Moments gave its first two performances with Poppy Beddoe, James Flannery and Oliver Wass.

Also in 2026, Alec won first prize in the Larks Ascending Competition ran by the Ralph Vaughan Williams Society with his piece We Will Return, a tribute to skylarks
